CANVAS OR WHAT
The net is full of information and possibilities on which you can paint with acrylic paint. In essence, there are only a few image carriers that are well suited for acrylic painting. Which I use for my paintings, I would like to introduce you here.
The classic. On the one hand highly durable and durable. On the other hand easy and can be shown without framing in exhibitions. Either you cover a stretcher with a desired fabric itself, or you buy a ready-covered and mostly already primed stretcher. Again, there are different qualities. Cheap stretcher bars are more suitable for study or exercise. They are often forgiven and are usually poorly processed. The included wedges are almost impossible to use.
High-quality stretcher frames are made of multi-glued wood and come with a functioning and clean processed wedge construction. Often hardwood wedges are used here, which makes it possible to stretch the canvas properly.
Covered screens are also available in specialist stores with different types of fabric.
From heavy, coarse to very fine types of tissue. The fabric itself also differs in the material. There are pure linen fabrics, cotton fabrics and synthetic fabrics. For my work, I use a fine-mesh fabric as possible to be able to paint even fine details
How to smooth the surface of your canvas for detailed work can be found here.
Painting with acrylic
The disadvantage of such plates is the presentation
If you want to show your pictures in an exhibition, painted hardboards are difficult to hang without frames and therefore do not look very good. It is a price question. These plates are cheap to buy and also require little space otherwise. If you want to exhibit them then, it is difficult to get around a costly framing.
Paper â painting with acrylic
There is special paper for acrylic painting. The paper should not be less than 360g / m². Even paper has a fine surface and is well suited for detailed work. It is cheap to buy, but also requires a frame if it is to be exhibited.
The big disadvantage of paper or cardboard is the strong absorbency. Since acrylic paint dries quickly anyway, paper acts like a drying accelerator. The brush we practically vacuumed empty. In addition, paper curls when it gets wet. Anyone who starts with acrylic painting and paints his first attempts on paper quickly loses the fun of acrylic paints. It is extremely difficult to get clean color gradients on paper. Therefore, it is recommended to treat the paper with a primer before, to soften the suction effect. I mainly use paper to make fast designs.

ACRYLIC PAINTS DRY MORE SLOWLY
This article is again dedicated to the painting technique and is thus aimed at the art-creative readers. More specifically, to those who work with acrylic paints.
Acrylic paints have the property that they dry quickly. This experience makes everyone sooner or later in dealing with acrylic paints. Fast drying is a feature that is often an advantage, but also a disadvantage at least as often. The speed with which acrylic paint dries is usually compared with that of oil paint. Oil paints can often be nailed after days, while acrylic ends after a few minutes. For example, if you want soft color transitions over a larger area, this can be a sporty undertaking.
In the following, I would like to give you some tips on how to keep acrylic paint liquid for longer, thereby gaining more time and even achieving special effects.
Room temperature and humidity
A mostly neglected but serious reason why acrylic paints dry quickly is the room temperature and humidity. In a warm and dry environment, the colors are dry in no time. Here can be counteracted only with a means ⦠and that is painting in a cool room. Since this solution is not very appealing to many, there are fortunately other ways to slow down the drying time.Spray bottle paint acrylic paints
Depending on the manufacturer, the colors are relatively fluid to impasto. According to the applied painting technique, the open time of acrylic paints can be extended by adding water. The easiest way to do this is with the brush directly on the painting palette.
